For several years, November 18 marks the European Day for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics. 
This European initiative is based on all international organizations dedicated to promoting the health of the population (World Health Organization-WHO, Centers for Disease Control - CDCs, Alliance for Prudent Use of Antibiotics the - APUA, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control - ECDC) recognize the importance of promoting health measures to preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics, which worldwide is a major problem due to increasing development bacterial resistance to almost all known antibiotics families.
This year the campaign is focused on the responsible use of antimicrobials in the hospital setting, in which the Hospital de Jerez has decided to collaborate actively with informational activities directed to health personnel and patients in the appropriate and responsible use of antibiotics
