Organic architecture

Organic architecture is a term coined by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) which promotes harmony between human habitat and the natural world. That is, the design of an architectural work should understand and integrate into the site and surroundings, becoming a unified composition and correlated with the environment.

Cascade House (Frank Lloyd Wright)

attention of the architect is not limited to the structures and the arrangement of the environment, but extends to psychological problems and life man . Respect for the environment or the use of appropriate building materials become inherent in the human factors. Interior spaces also gain a new awareness.
Asplund, Aalto and schools begin to study the environments of the routes, movements of men and come to the creation of spaces they consider most appropriate, which are given a proper enclosure. Technical and structural solutions must adhere to these spaces, usually resulting in more complicated ways, in this respect, organicism leaves one of the tenets of rationalism, creating change, when properly interpreted, juicier and human achievements.

Therefore, the works of the great architects of organic are much more personal and difficult to imitate. It would be more appropriate to speak of an approach than a style of organic architecture.

soc is known that iAge (and architecture) are in a constant state of evolution. The term is adapting to new times and new concerns. At present, it appears that organic architecture has evolved and set the stage for what is now known as sustainable architecture . The economic factor returns to be especially important, as well as social and ecological factor. New technologies and new skills can design the architecture from a new point of view. Sustainability is now looking to use natural resources so as to minimize the environmental impact of buildings on the environment and and the lives of its inhabitants. To this, sustainability must Please note:

-climatic conditions, hydrography and the surrounding ecosystems;
-effectiveness and restraint in the use of materials;
-reducing energy consumption meeting the demand with renewable energy sources;
-minimization of global energy balance of the building, covering the design, construction, use and end-of-life;
-compliance with the requirements of hygrothermal comfort, health, lighting and occupancy of buildings.

Säynätsalo City Council (Alvar Alto)

back at the end of organic architecture, as the exact words of Frank Lloyd Wright in 1939 make clear the link with the term sustainability:

"And here I stand before you preaching organic architecture, organic architecture stating that is the ideal modern education so necessary if we want to see the whole of life, and now serve c onjunto of life, without putting any "tradition" to the great TRADITION. Do not exalt any form fixed on us, whether past, present or future, but exalting the simple laws of common sense or of super-sense, if you will which determines the preferred means by the nature of the material, the nature of the way ... "Form follows function? Yes, but what matters most now is that the form and function are one. "
FL Wright, Organic Architecture, 1939

theorist David Pearson proposed a list of rules on the design of an organic architecture. It is known as the letter of Gaia for organic architecture and design. According to Pearson the design must:

-be inspired by nature and be sustainable, healthy, conservative, and diverse.
-disclose, as a body, inside the seed.
-exist in the "present continuous "and" start repeatedly. "
-tracking flows and be flexible and adaptable.
-social needs, physical, and spirit.
- "grow out of the room" and be unique.
-holding youth, play and surprise.
-express the rhythm of the music and energy of dance. "

Parq Guell (Antonio Gaudi)

words, organic architecture is not a style, is a way of seeing and stating the architecture, to feel as if the building were a living thing that adapts to the environment as a plant in nature. In short, to develop a building from an organizational perspective should fulfill 3 basic requirements: 1 .-

Materials should be primarily natural materials (stone, wood, ceramic, preferably ...), which come from the same place where the work is located to minimize the impact to the environment, and better than is available in its most natural state possible. They can also be recycled materials (natural or industrial), or that can be recycled easily later, the idea of this is to use materials in industrial process, or who have demanded a low energy to manufacture. The maximum power saving is a constant in nature, and a the characteristics of this architecture is precisely be a manifestation of nature respecting their laws.

2 .- The spatial and formal conception of the work must be in harmony with their environment and be flexible to changes or modifications induced by:

a) The materials used, which may vary depending on where you site the building and climatic conditions that surround it.

b) The environment and physical reality, that may not be fully understood before the project (like rocks under the ground, trees that "ask" to be incorporated into the work, sheds, etc.). The idea of this is to always go in favor of nature, not against it (with the mania that human beings have wanted to "dominate" nature and do what comes up at all costs regardless of the consequences). We focus natural factors such as an asset rather than as a problem.

3 .- The suitability of the work, should consider heating and ventilation systems, low energy consumption, such as solar, geothermal, etc., With good insulation in walls, windows and roof. Ie optimize the design for efficient habitability and respect for the environment.

"All this without being fundamentalists (or intolerant), as a feature of nature, is its adaptability and tolerance. "

Guggenheim Museum (Frank Lloyd Wright)

Finally we can highlight to countless architects, exponents of the so-called organic architecture. One example is Gustav Stickley, Antoni Gaudi, Frank Lloyd Wright, Alvar Aalto, Louis Sullivan, Bruce Goff, Rudolf Steiner, Bruno Zevi, Hundertwasser, Samuel Flores Flores, Imre Makovecz and Anton Alberts and others.

How tame the monsters that haunt your mind

A renowned American psychiatrist called "ants" to negative automatic thoughts, which can ruin our lives .

Negative thoughts tend to do negative things happen.

Have you thought, after eating a cracker, that his diet has been ruined, and then eats a whole package? Or do you think that because you did not get a promotion this year, is destined to fail in your career?

You are not alone. Even the most optimistic person is not immune to negative thoughts. But for some, destructive thinking and doubts can be relentless.

Psychologists believe that, just like the feeling of shame can cause a physical reaction (flushing), as self-destructive thoughts can lead to health problems, weight gain, skin diseases and economic misery.

The renowned American psychiatrist Daniel Amen has spent his life studying how thoughts affect our appearance, energy and success, reports the Daily Mail

Their studies have revealed that on turning negative thoughts to positive, we can transform our lives for the better.

In his new book Change Your Brain, Change Your Body, Dr. Amen identifies the scourge maddeningly common: ANT (automatic negative thoughts), which he describes as "small voices that appear in the head and tell you are not good enough, not thin enough, a bad daughter, a person with no future. "

When ants are small, the ANT can be administered.

But when thousands of negative thoughts appear things get complicated.

"The brain is powerful," he says. "Negative thoughts can make bad things happen. In battles without end, redemption is building its own arsenal of solutions anteater, to eliminate every ant you see in your head."

"The key is to develop an anteater in your brain that can consume all the negative thoughts that enter your head. Every time you feel angry, sad or frustrated, enter your ANT, then write what your bear ant say to kill the ant. "

"Make a pact with himself for not listening to their ants. If you do, your thoughts will translate into stock. Your body follows your mind. There is no other option."

5 Month Old Baby Has Dry Cough

discovered correlation between tastes Music and IQ

has always known that music can calm the beast, but we now know it also helps cure diseases, not only that, it also makes us smarter. It is shown that when people who are sick come to the healing arts such as music, painting, architecture and theater, they feel less pain and recover faster.

A study by Virgil Griffith, a student PhD California Institute of Technology (Caltech) found that people with higher IQs tend to listen to different bands and musical styles than those with lower IQ. "It works with complex musical structures and take more time to understand their beep codes, according to research, develop cognitive abilities because they stimulate certain neurons. Styles such as rock where it is possible to find groups with a rich musical and processing. In contrast, styles like reggaeton handle a flat formula "

Virgil used the data published by Facebook in" Statistics for the network of Universities " for his study. Extracted data from the musical tastes of students from various American universities and the average scores they got on their SATs (standard test for admission to universities in the U.S.) and compared both. Who obtained the highest scores on tests drawn to Beethoven as their favorite musician by a wide margin. The lowest scores, however, confessed that his favorite was the rapper Lil Wayne and reggaeton.

Effects Saturn Mahadasha

This weekend has been released in many cities of Spain first film as director Jonas Trueba. It is entitled " All songs speak to me." The screenplay is by the director and Daniel Gascón , writer, screenwriter and translator Zaragoza. I'm friends with both for a few years (and even do a small role in the film, which I hope will not seriously affect the quality of it) but even so, there were many things about the writing process of this film did not know. It struck me that perhaps I could make a short interview that focused primarily on how they wrote the script. Fortunately, they found time to answer my questions despite being involved in promoting the film. Here are his answers I hope that you are interested.

Jonah, your blog in elmundo.es, I have often said that a shoot should be like an adventure. without a defined plan too. Ideas are very attractive, but they seem difficult to reconcile with the existence of a script and with nature "industrial" in the field. How do you manage to "All the songs are about me" to keep this spirit and at the same time work with a script? Jonah whole process, which in this case begins with writing, is an adventure, learning and discovery that over until you abandon the film. Daniel and I started writing without really knowing where we were going, we were outlining a possible movie, but that first script could have arisen very different films. I have discovered the movie I wanted to do as he advanced. I believe this spirit is given in a natural way, a way of understanding the movie since I try to keep up in the morning until I go to bed, you write the script, filming or editing process. It's about using film to discover yourself but others as well as many other things. The script need not hinder anything, the contrary. Is necessary to have a plan worked out in advance, among other things that may arise after the unexpected and contradictions, secondary roads. If there were no script, freedom would be excessive and paralyzing. The problem is when the script becomes something that must be followed to the letter, and it is true that sometimes it is difficult to break with that idea, especially if you depend on schedules and time constraints. In the case of this film got the clock almost never take me over. Just rolled flat and most of the time things fell under its own weight, the days were long and flat matured alone. Followed the script because in addition depended on a very literary structure which conditioned a lot. But the excitement was always elsewhere, almost always unexpected. Some of the most enjoyable moments of the film are small details that we were encountering. I also enjoy writing with Dani because that's where the momentum came from the movie, but I knew then that I lacked the basic materials of work: actors, light, movement, so I can not predict .. . All those things in a script can only guess. Dani, until now I've devoted mainly to writing stories, collected in "awkward age" and " passive smoking ", is this your first script for film? What main differences have you noticed between the two "languages"?

Daniel: I had written a short and Jonah had written another script that is stored in a drawer. In general I think the film is better for all exterior and literature can come more into the characters and switching of views and time. But the two have developed techniques to overcome these hardships and I think one of the most interesting things is to go against the apparent limitations of the medium of expression. Like all contemporary writers have also learned to run through the film, there are elements of cinematic storytelling to understand almost instinctively. There are many other more subtle, I'm learning through-Jonah. Anyway, the biggest difference for me is that in the literature build a discourse that is a finished product. The script is a work material, a kind of travel guide. When you write a story make the whole house, but when you write a script traces a plane. Has to be good: you have to calculate everything well and you have to try that builders also work comfortably. But you retire, others raised the walls, put the doors, sometimes you have to place the window anywhere else, and so on. What was the germ of "All the songs are about me?" A true story, a story that someone told you a movie you saw? Can you remember who and when they arrived one day saying he wanted to tell this story? Could you reconstruct the scene, the place and time that happened? What remains of the germinal idea in the film that has just been released? D.: Jonah and I had some time working together on various projects. All three were ideas of Jonah. As he was directing the film, it was incumbent to choose which story he bet. And the idea of talking about a break was imposed in part of course: it was something we both knew and what we felt comfortable about what I had written stories and what the two had talked many times. We made a first version very digressive and free more than 130 pages, which were then cut, focusing on the relationship of Ramiro and Andrea. Although there have been many changes, I think the basic idea-that after the confusion of love and the breakup of a relationship, the mixture of humor and drama, is in the movie. Rewriting, filming and editing have been a double process: to enrich the story with new elements and purify it in some way. J. : It was basically tells Dani. Of course, there were also many movies and books and songs that interfered in our history. Many of them are in the film, whether physically present or on a more subliminal or unconscious. This 130-page script that I responded to the desire we had to have fun and make the characters in situations of all kinds, some who had lived in the flesh and others had told us in the form of anecdote, but most were projections and future that we were interested in investigating. The truth is that there were many things I liked and I was entertained and that the approach of filming, I decided to delete. Especially to make room. A script can be a drag overloaded. And I wanted to shoot me over time, as it were. A very practical question: how was the development of the script? Dani lives in Zaragoza, Jonah in Madrid, how did you manage to get on with the job? Would you like to assemble as a coffee and discuss for hours? Do you work from the beginning with documents, writing? Have you somehow split the work, ordered one of the dialogues or writing documents?

D: We got together in Zaragoza or, more frequently in Madrid. Almost always wrote together. At first, it was mostly talk, at home or in bars. Then we began to write: one type and one walk. We have made the corridor miles from home. We stopped to eat, but usually talked about the script. Then we continued until dinner time. After days of that happy marriage regime, we parted. We always had to think of some sequence, or fragments re-read or sketch, which then pooled at the next meeting. For me to write this script has been a long conversation and fun. J : We guided by the idea of Azcona is that the script is spoken rather than written. A I like to write the script also collect experiences, not only work. If one writes itself, this is more difficult. But when writing to another, there is much talk, there are walks, eats and drinks. This can only be done with someone who is your friend, as I happened to Víctor García León when we wrote " More penalty Gloria" and "Get thee behind me ." input producers, the support of television channels, usually to be matched to "suggest" changes in the script. Do you suffer touched any of these influences? How have you reacted to them, if they existed?

J:

All this is also part of the adventure. But it is the most unpleasant part of the trip, I have produced more anxiety and suffering. Not because I have suggested changes in the script, but the feeling of dependence on external agents to the movies. I refer to television, although in the case of this film, all televisions rejected the script, so there was not much feedback on that side ... This was the good part. We were lucky to find a producer able to bet on the film Apart from the television, something unusual in the conventional production system. The bad part is we had to tighten our belts a lot, but I have the satisfaction of certain easements have been able to contradict conventional production system. Then entered a private network and another state, but a film made. happen in the movie jumps in time, I read that Jonah compared with those given in the literature, was this idea of temporal fragmentation always present in the script? Or does he work the plot linearly and then decide to enter the temporary jumps? D: wanted the film to have bends and changes of pace. In that, we liked that had an air like some novels of Baroja, or other authors, interspersed with sentimental comedy and even with the essay. The idea of temporal fragmentation was from the beginning, and always wanted the film to start after the break. We wanted the memories of that relationship stormed the protagonist: we talked a lot of "I agree" of Georges Perec and verse of Bunbury "past life will not return." J: is true. We heard much disk Bunbury Nacho Vegas, "Time of Cherries", the we used to refer to as "beer time", in honor of our own intoxicated. That verse of the song of Bunbury was the title of one of the seven chapters of the film. Others are more inspired Baroja ("The concerns of Ramiro Lastra) or kunderiana (the mathematical paradox of nostalgia.") It is true that there were many literary influences, also Dani's books ("The age of the turkey" and "smoke") that I love and are part of my sentimental education. But the chapters reflect a fragmented movie idea made into pieces. No a clear story line, so we decided to partition, work by association of ideas and feelings. Some partnerships have emerged spontaneously. For example, the most important of all (the part that I referred to as the "funnel"), when we Kundera fragment Battiato's song, " station loves." When you paste those two things, one after another, appeared to be the main theme of the film, which is the first nostalgia, the time when one begins to recap and check accounts for the first time, the struggle between present and past.

The film makes numerous references, very explicit, literary works. Characters read poems at the camera, others work in bookstores as they strive to publish books ... It is so rare in the recent film, almost like a rebellious "anti-modern." Did you have this intention to introduce these elements in your story? D: I think it was natural. We know people like that, the literary references are important to us and I think it is justified and dramatic narrative: the way to have the film, by the fact that the character work in a bookstore, has studied philology, etc. ... To me the literature, like film or music helps me understand and appreciate life, and I do not have to deprive them of that right to my characters: the culture is part of reality and want to show the reality. I think the fear of books is a form of reverse snobbery quite pernicious. We also liked that there was a mix of culture and vulgarity. J: Some people who read the script were all the dating game, plus signs, the monologues, letters and the narrator's voice could lead to a too pedantic or intellectual film, but I was sure that did not need to be, and I insisted a lot. My idea was to film all this with great ease. As a way to reach via direct feelings. Was also clear that he wanted to make a film widely spoken. I know this is frowned upon by many people. But my idea was not to fill the explanatory dialogues film and stuff, just wanted to film people talking, which is one of the most beautiful things to see. So no matter what they say both the characters and the fact that say things, so sometimes repeated and contradictory, and these blunders or phrases "useless" does not usually show in the movies. Interestingly, in my opinion, just treat the most "literary" leads to one of the most beautiful film and the film (reading emails or letters, literary quotations camera ...) and formally, much riskier than they're used to seeing. Do not you think there is some narrative impoverishment in contemporary cinema more conventional if these resources, which in many cases were used by the Nouvelle Vague directors like Woody Allen or, etc, seem almost revolutionary turn in your film?

J:

Indeed, we have not invented anything new. Most of the resources that we use are part of a long tradition of film. I like to think that we have made the tail of that tradition. If attention is because sometimes there are beautiful traditions that are abandoned or neglected, until suddenly someone comes and keeps pulling the thread. That speaks Kundera in his best book-essay, "Testaments Betrayed ." And do not be afraid to acknowledge these traditions or affiliations. La Nouvelle Vague claimed their parents in every frame and every camera movement and another could cite, cite, or put photos or frames from all those movies that had driven to make movies, and films were Renoir, Rossellini, Bergman, Ophüls, Lang, Hitchcock, Hawks ... Bad is that now, if you show two characters talking in a park or sitting on a bench you're accused of pro-French. It happens that in Madrid and other places we kissed and discussed also in the parks. But it seems that the French have aporpiado all this, and I think it's our job to claim it as well as ours. We must reclaim our parks and our streets and our streets and at the same time suggesting that perhaps this is not French but a European, now that the idea of Europe is a minimum. Now that I think it is possible that almost all references in the film are European. Ramiro (Oriol Vila) the protagonist, is present in almost all the sequences of the film, however, frequently attends many of them as a witness, as if temporarily cede the spotlight to the people around him. Was this your intention in writing? Why? J: I think not. Ramiro's character gradually faded from filming and editing, but maybe had too much on the script. It was a conscious decision on my part, but it's funny because I ended up filming the side as if they were actors and the main character as if it were secondary. I think this idea is important to understand the film. Is another way to play down the drama of Ramiro, surrounding of diverse people that affect their way of seeing things. The drama of the lonely is that they always manage to avoid being alone. After filming the movie, I heard that phrase in " Boy meets girl" by Leos Carax, and made me laugh because that's exactly what happens to Ramiro. What other projects do you have now at hand, either jointly or individually?

D: Within a few days published a book of stories, "Daily Life." With Jonas we have things in hand, but are still in an early stage. J: will have to see where we are conversations. I suspect that will depend on our new concerns, but I guess that will always be more or less the same: love, sex ... are our themes ...

Can I Stop Taking Ramapril

films of the year interview: "All the songs are about me"

Hello, My name is D.

, I live in Madrid and I have 30 years. After working as a clerk for several years, remaining on the dole in 2008 I decided to study script, something I always wanted to do but for what you never had time. It was the best decision I make because I think I found my true vocation. (...) The problem is I do not live alone at home and often do not have a quiet place to work, making me the least disruptive and do not give up everything it should. About home I saw that some offices are rented at a reasonable price and would not mind taking one. But, as I do not have money, I was wondering if you think of a parallel activity, connected with the script to be possible, which could afford the rent without being removed too long to write. Do any you could guide me? Do not you working in the offices of any production, you write at home or in a studio? know that's a very particular question that may not fit the bloguionistas philosophy's office, but I keep beating around the bush because I think having a place where they can meet their own work as well with other colleagues to develop joint projects would greatly help me. (...) Thank D. Hi, D, here D Thank you very much for your mail and for reading. As you saw, I abbreviated your query, limiting it to one topic. For space reasons and to maintain consistency in the section, I think it's better to just a matter of consultation. I answer the question on workplace because lately I've been a bit busy. Sometimes the TV writers touches us, as you say, work in the office of a producer and spent there most of the time (usually when you need to prepare the "bible" of a series, the dramatic arc of the season, the rundown of episode or a block of episodes), but there are long periods in which the writer has to work alone. For example, when it comes to dialogue, writing the rundown, write documents, character profiles, or in the case of a personal project, not requested by any producer ... virtually all the time. As I said, working at home is pretty fucked up when you do not live alone. It is also quite screwed up when they do live alone, I guarantee it. To distract not necessary to have an Armenian family celebrating a birthday in the next room. Enough to distract a fly, the wing of a fly or even the idea of a fly wing. The problem is that not only is flies. There is another little matter that sure sounds like you, a thing called the Internet. Right now, in Spain, hundreds of people know they should be doing something else and, instead, are reading this sentence. Why is the Internet, it's free. Because, as you read this, get your script, or read the rundown that have pending, or clean the oven or pick up his father's hospital, a man takes two hours in the waiting room. But no, here we are all reading something that, honestly know, just going to give us a few smiles and a quarter of an hour less.

If, as seems your case, nobody imposes deadlines for your work, things get more complicated. You can rewrite the same sentence two hundred times, or postpone writing two hundred times more. A trick often make up the urgency, invented the producer eager to read our work. Putting a time limit, more or less urgent (not relax) but realistic (to avoid frustration or unnecessary distress.) The deadline for a contest, a meeting with a producer, the arrival of the holidays ... any excuse to be fixed a moment for which our work must be completed. ask me for space and time I speak. Why? For if time is limited, the space goes to matter less, if I have to deliver a script tomorrow, I have 30 pages, and that delivery depends thirty thousand euros to win, I guarantee that I will distract a fly, not Internet , even the Armenian family that insists on proving their birthday cake. If there is no time or hurry, I'll distract in my home or office aseptic. Once pointed this, let some of my opinions practices workspaces. These are the things I work (not always) to me, allowed others in the comments section. Ideally working at home: it is comfortable, inexpensive and you can have a lot of reference material at your disposal. However, almost everyone is difficult to work in the same place where we live, as we are almost unable to separate activities: instead of typing, you escape the fridge, put a washer ... or, conversely, you start read a rundown while watching a tennis match. Limiting the time and place of work within your own home would be the ideal solution but ... sometimes you have to settle for more practical solutions. Office. You can be the perfect solution ... if you have pasta. Move to another place, set your working day. Almost without trying, you'll find that you establish a discipline, routines, you are comfortable to work. Will also have the ability to create your own ideal work space, with the elements you need and, if possible, few distractions. Cons: an ideal office, quiet and secluded, it leaves one to their work and that sometimes is hard. The moments of frustration or distraction in an aseptic environment and lonely as a Gift center can be especially hard. Second and foremost, as I mentioned before, having an office itself implies an investment. Suggests that it might get you a job to pay your office. Questions if we can suggest work on the script that you do not remove too long. Ideally working as an analyst, script reader, story editor, translator ... If you can get some of these jobs might suit you best to ensure some income without removing too long. However, when I read your question, sorry, idea reminded me of the type to buy gasoline, sold his bike. What good is an office to write if, for pay, going to work on something else? I know very few writers or writers who have an office (not home) and they have all managed to get out their work. If you want to write, you will, in a corner office or in your living room. I do not think to take a job, albeit part time, is the best way to achieve it. Between the house and his own office there between. public places. It is the option I choose I recently (I write this in a cafe next to a window in a notebook that costs 400 euros at most). A decent coffee shop assures you: heating, good coffee, wifi (which, on the other hand, can be a distraction), a working environment more or less attractive and a decent place to have small meetings. Obviously, you have to buy something, but nobody forces you to spend a bundle every day. You can toggle various and, little by little, pick your favorite. With a little luck, even meet people. And if the noise bothers you, you can get the MP3 music, "inspiring."

Less expensive than a coffee shop and, with almost all its advantages: the public library. Fortunately, most cities and towns have a library with reading room open for many hours a day. There are also rooms of this type in museums, cultural centers, universities, foundations ... Many of them have free wifi and the atmosphere of study and devotion seems ideal for work in a script. The biggest drawback is that these places are usually full of students who monopolize the seats. However, I am sure that, before long, one can discover what are the appropriate times and places to get a workspace without having to stick with anyone.

One of the great advantages of our work is that it requires little infrastructure to carry it out. Your script is not going to be better than the scribes in a next-generation Mac instead of a basic netbook a perfect office is not going to turn your bland dialogues sparkling mirrors. Nor will not, I guarantee it. Write it is as cheap as misspelled. Of course, time-consuming. D, if you want to write, try to. Find what your times and places for it, but do not let anything keep you away from that goal.

I hope this response, although partial, I have found useful. I send a greeting and I wish you luck for your scripts. Scribes where the Scribes.

Poem On Money As Gift For Birthday

Mars, the mysterious Julian Assange

Emilio Silvera:

"The fourth planet from the Sun Its unique color makes it distinctive, is noticeably red. It has a thin atmosphere composed (by volume) by about 95% carbon dioxide, 2.7% nitrogen, 1.6% argon, 0.1% oxygen, or 1% carbon monoxide and trace amounts of variables water vapor. The atmospheric pressure at the surface is about 6 mbar. Surface temperatures can vary between 0 and -125 C °, with an average of -50 º. It is relatively common the presence of white clouds of condensed water vapor or carbon dioxide, particularly in polar latitudes.

There are two ice caps at the poles permanent water, which never melt. In winter they increase in size by becoming caps of frozen carbon dioxide to reach 60 degrees longitude.

(...) If there is life on Mars, however simple it may be, there may be variations on a theme as very different. All of a sudden double the number of types of life immediately known and perhaps would acquire a basic understanding of the nature of life. And even if life on Mars is to be based on the same topic on Earth, might have interesting differences in detail. For example, all protein molecules of the Earth are made of amino acids, which (except one) admitted, or a right orientation or left orientation. In any circumstances in which life is not involved, the two types are equally stable and exist in equal amounts.

land in proteins, however, all amino acids, with rare and insignificant exceptions, are left orientation. This allows the construction of perfect cell protein, which would be impossible if some were left and other rights (though the batteries would be perfect if they were all right).

So, why not left and right itself? Is it a matter of pure chance? Could it be that the first outbreak of life on earth turned out to be left?

Además, aunque la vida en Marte fuese un calco de la vida terrestre desde el punto de vista bioquímico, cabría aún la posibilidad de que aquella estuviese constituida for primitive molecular systems which have developed over billions of years here on Earth with his most prolific and gentle environment. Mars would then be a laboratory where we could observe the protov such as (perhaps) existed in the primitive ages of the Earth. We could even experiment with it-which could only do here if we had a time machine, and look for certain fundamental truths that are hidden in the complexities of life on earth.

Another possibility is the existence of organic molecules on Mars they are, now, on his way to life, so to speak, and we could document what happened here for life to emerge and so the paths for it.

Anything we can learn about life on Mars could be like a dazzling light torch that lit corners of our minds those who are in the most intense blackness due to the vast ignorance about the origins of life still endure.

Moreover, many of you have heard the story that the Earth was colonized by meteor came from Mars and that in them spores came later life, proliferated on our planet.

At this point, I have no choice but to remind ALH-84001, the meteorite the size of a grapefruit from Mars that caused a huge debate in our science class when discussing the biology of Mars.

The match that ignited the conflagration was ignited by David McKay, a geologist who worked on refining one of the departments that NASA is in Houston. Together with other colleagues in the JSC and Stanford University, McKay had told the media the discovery of traces of life on a small piece of rock called AL-84001. At least that was the version of history that gave NASA (always looking for headlines).

course, speculation is already giving way to the exploration, and any day in the not too distant future, we will wake up in the morning and to my surprise (expected), we read the headlines, FOUND LIFE OUTSIDE THE EARTH.

many times have we wondered: Is there life on Mars?

not really know yet. And maybe we will not know until the day when scientists amarticen there, personally, I can investigate. It is not easy for a spacecraft, however sophisticated they may be, enter the planet's subsurface to verify certain points.

But judging from what we know today, it seems most likely that there is some kind of life on Mars. Yes, it is true that so far no mission has confirmed that. However, the absence of evidence is not at all evidence of absence ... of life. You just have to look in the right place at the required conditions.

We know and leave it clear that the Martian atmosphere is very rarefied, is a hundred times less dense than Earth, and what little there is almost all carbon dioxide. Moreover, Mars is far from the Sun and a half more than the Earth, so that at night the figures reach Antarctic temperatures and in polar regions cold enough to freeze carbon dioxide.

The man could not survive in this environment without special protection from the cost of which today would be better not to talk. Possible Mars colonists would have to live in domes or in underground caverns. But does that mean that Mars can not be complex life forms adapted to the conditions of this planet? Well, to eliminate this possibility, it would be highly desirable and so far, the better to leave the question floating in the air.

What, for example, simple life forms, plants such as lichens and bacteria-like organisms (a few days ago we saw here what they can do these microscopic bugs and under what conditions they can live). Here the possibilities are now much better and the percentage of likely rises visibly.

I refuse to lose hope of finding some day, some kind of life on this planet, its history and its past, would one day flourish in the same way that occurred here on Earth and, as life, after appearing refuses to die and is by all means to adapt to conditions and had to go on Mars and, those most metabolically prepared for it, they will be there, hoping that we will discover.

you bet anyone a coffee?

"Social Network"

is a film directed by David Fincher

and written by Aaron Sorkin has adapted the book - story (nonfiction) by Ben Mezrich " Mutimillonarios by accident" (gracefully captioned: "The Birth of Facebook, a story of sex, money, talent and treachery")

. This book's main source

Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook. (Then you will understand because I extend much about this issue.)

Brief summary

Mark Zuckerberg created with the help of his friend Eduardo, a network of huge success on the road, however, lose his friend and leaving him alone. Structure

(eye espoilers all)

triggers:

Mark is rejected by his girlfriend. First act: their

Resentful girlfriend, Mark creates, with the help of Edward, a successful site with photos of female university students. Although the page carries penalties and discredit him, also lets you see a chance of success. And contact with the brothers Winklevoss

(and his partner Divya Narendra

) who proposed a similar project work but elitist. Mark agrees.

first turning point: After hearing the proposal by the Winklevoss, Mark decided to create their own exclusive social network: (The) Facebook. Edward enlisted in the project (minute 28)

Second act: While relegated to Winklevoss, Mark launched his own project, which brings him and Eduardo an immediate success. The Winklevoss accuse them of plagiarism. For this and other reasons, the first differences arise between the two friends. The entrance of Sean Parker, who captivates Mark and lost influence to Eduardo. After Mark was transferred to California, the confrontation between him and Eduardo reaches its zenith.

second turning point: Eduardo Facebook accounts frozen endangering the survival of the company (minute 93)

Act III: Thanks to Sean management, Facebook gets a billionaire investor. In the subsequent capital increase, Eduardo is the victim of a legal trick by Mark and Sean. Their participation in the company is drastically reduced. The friendship between the two over. A settlement will resolve the issue, but Mark is more alone than ever.

structure

Note: after the movie, would have bet on the sequence in which Edward signed the contract "cheat" as a second pivot point. Then think about it and noticing minute film was happening in the (late, at about the 100) I decide the moment of confrontation between Mark and Eduardo, the threat from first to second that "is going to stay the way "if not incorporated in body and soul to Facebook and the revenge of Eduardo freezing the accounts. I think the confrontation decisive, which triggers all that comes later. The contract is only a consequence for a character "secondary" Protagonist

Eduardo Saverin, brothers Winklevoss, Divya Narendra, lawyers, etc.. Objective protagonist raising a large social network "that mole"

Allies

Eduardo Saverin, Sean Parker, FB other workers, lawyers, etc.. Obstacles, setbacks Lawsuits, obstacles economic, academic, communication problems (difficulty getting) ...

My analysis: Let's start with some objective and dispassionate: the "Social Network" seems to me a wonderful script, I would both hands to write well, but this was because the need to write it. Usually wit Sorkin noted for witty dialogue and, while deep, but I think this film has particular merit in the structure: how wonderfully flowing story full of jumps in time, although it seems, is at bottom, a film firm.
What is in at least two senses. First, they are the statements of the different characters in the extra sessions that form the structure of the story: for most of the film followed the testimony of Edward (and also the Winklevoss in his "subplot"). It's kind of movie "trial" very cleverly disguised.

Secondly, I say that this is a film of lawyers because it seems to have been written between Sorkin and a team of lawyers. Writing about real events, about people living (and rich) can be a lot of legal problems. I get the impression that elude has influenced many decisions script.
usual practice to try to escape legal problems when dealing with a real event is to buy the rights to adapt a book on the subject. The script must stick to the facts that the author has investigated. Will this author who must face any legal liability if their research proves wrong. (Another option is to wait for a court ruling on the case and take the version of "proven" as the main source for the screenplay).
This made the producers of the film. Acquired the rights to "accidental billionaire" by Ben Mezrich, who, as I said above, had as its main source Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook finally "betrayed" by Zuckerberg. My thesis is that this has to do with ... The curious question of point of view in "Social Network" I'm not an expert on the subject's point of view, but even I was struck how, despite the fact that Mark is the protagonist of the story, the script adopted other views, especially at the most tricky, in fact, about two turning points in history: 1 not go to the decision of Mark to create Facebook after hearing the idea of Winklevoss (we leave the cinema without a clear idea about what led him, in that time to make that decision or what they had, indeed, its "long" to Winklevoss) and 2 also witnessed the reasons why Zuckerberg decided to build this "loophole" to Eduardo. Obviously, the writer provides information (perhaps too much, will talk about below) that we can help fill those gaps, to imagine those scenes, but the real reason Zuckerberg's performance in these two big decisions always mysterious.

By moving the point of view Eduardo is particularly striking in the last third of the film, when, in fact, the two characters separated by at least two senses. Naturally, the first part, which takes place primarily at Harvard, in which both partners were friends and lived close by, it shows this
the story of Eduardo gives us a fairly complete information (with the relevant except we do not know to what extent "plagiarized and distracted" consciously to Winklevoss and Co.).. Suddenly, however, when Mark moved to California, almost all began to see through the eyes of Edward.
And, as I said in the case of "Buried
, usually much less interesting to the victim that the executioner. I guess the reasons for this decision are legal script. The immense talent screenwriter, director and the entire team make, at least in my opinion, this limitation (can not fictions important scenes on Zuckerberg's character) go quite unnoticed. Fincher Sorkin and even make a virtue and secrecy become the protagonist in another of its allure. Of course, some viewers the inability to know what Mark can prevent moves to empathize with him, and thus produce the impression that the film is too "cold."
However, I think the movie, as far as you can, it does give some clues about what happens in the mind of its protagonist. And, to coincide with what
Jonas Trueba wrote in his blog , that's precisely what I like least about this film. Armero As Angela says in his post

of this past Friday, here in Bloguionistas about his experience writing "
Alfonso, Prince damn," " count when the lives of characters that existed in Actually, look for relationships between facts, causes and effects may exist, or they may be harvesting our
. "
Sorkin (and perhaps also Mezrich, I have not read the book), not having access to cause Zuckerberg actual move (access, as stated in this post

Let them:

- Zuckerberg is not able to maintain significant social-emotional relationships: being dumped by a girl leads him to create Facemash, precursor of Facebook.

- Zuckerberg is an ambitious guy who wants to climb the social ladder and is obsessed to enter elite club.

The film recalls with some frequency these two possible resentment (against women and, above all, against the "establishment" elitist) as drivers of the protagonist. I understand that writing about a real person can be very problematic and that one may have to lead to the creation of their own causal connections (do not know if I understand this need, really, but hey, let's go) I understand that Sorkin has felt this need but. .. not even the movie itself is consistent with this decision because, along the "Social Network"

- Zuckerberg never makes an attempt to flirt with a girl even calls the girl he was supposed to love (just trying to talk with it when found by chance)

- Zuckerberg does not make a single attempt to enter an exclusive club, not behave like a guy who loves the luxury and pomp when fortune smiles

However, it seems that in this case, the reality, at least according to statements by Zuckerberg, follows more closely the portrait of merciless monomaniac accidental billionaire who had been "social network" if its authors had contained a little at a time to take spice to the stew.

Small note: "Social Network" is a great movie about the founding of Facebook. However, just see the operation of this network, as this hypnotic trailer seemed to announce that, in my opinion, has an evocative unfortunately absent from the film it advertises. (Incidentally, the first words of the fragment of "Creep" used say "I do not care if it hurts. I want to have control" - "I do not care if it hurts, I have control"

).
